The most up-to-date performance data for BTC, ETH, and BNB 5 Jul 2023
What's in your portfolio?
BTC stands for Bitcoin, the first and most popular cryptocurrency that was created in 2009 by an anonymous person or group using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. BTC uses a peer-to-peer network to enable transactions without intermediaries or central authorities. BTC has a limited supply of 21 million coins and is currently the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
ETH stands for Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization that was launched in 2015 by Vitalik Buterin and other co-founders. ETH is more than just a currency, it is a platform that enables smart contracts, decentralized applications and other innovations using its native programming language Solidity. ETH has no fixed supply limit and is currently undergoing a transition from a proof-of-work to a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism.
BNB stands for Binance Coin, the native token of Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. BNB was launched in 2017 as an initial coin offering (ICO) to fund the development of the exchange. BNB can be used to pay for fees, access exclusive features and participate in various activities on the Binance ecosystem. BNB has a maximum supply of 170.5 million coins and is currently the third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
The performance of these three cryptocurrencies can be measured by their price changes over time, as well as their returns on investment (ROI) based on different time periods. The following table shows some of these metrics as of July 5, 2023:
As you can see, BTC has the highest price, the highest all-time ROI and the highest YTD change among the three cryptocurrencies, while ETH has the second-highest price and all-time ROI but the lowest YTD change, and BNB has the lowest price and all-time ROI but the second-highest YTD change.
I hope this summary helps you understand the history and
current performance of BTC, ETH and BNB better. Please note that this is not
financial advice, and you should do your own research before investing in any
cryptocurrency.
